Event Spotlight | Connect: Beyond the Page

Mark your calendars for this #MustDo event. This weekend at The Orange Peel + other downtown Asheville venues, Connect: Beyond the Page festival will take the spotlight.

Connect: Beyond the Page uses music, film + storytelling to explore how collaboration + adaptation create a narrative that can influence social change. Check out the schedule of this three-day event where a mix of workshops, film screenings, panels + performance will take place to inspire creative thinking.

On Friday at The Orange Peel, producer, actor + host Ricki Lake and filmmaker Abby Epstein will screen their film Weed the People at 4:20 p.m.

Also at The Peel on Friday you can catch Bob Bollen (NPR’s All Songs Considered/Tiny Desk Concerts) as he hosts a special live interview session at 7 p.m. with pop-duo Sylvan Esso + singer-songwriter Christopher Paul Stelling.

And on Saturday at The Peel, don’t miss A Concert of Songs Inspired by Social Justice at 9 p.m. which will feature performances by Lyric, Big Chef Juan Pardo, Kat Williams, Johnny Irion, John Goodwin + more.
