ICYMI, Uber + Lyft voluntarily ceased pick-up operations with the Asheville Regional Airport after the airport changed their ground transportation policy, which now requires that transportation providers, like Uber + Lyft, pay a per-trip use fee ($2.50 for taxis, limos, etc. and $3.50 for Uber, Lyft + other rideshare companies and park in a gated area away from the curb (which is a common practice at airports around the country).

But don’t fret just yet, here are your transportation/parking alternatives when flying AVL.

Parking:

If you are parking and leaving your car at the airport then parking rates are based on long-term rates: Lot parking (weekly max of $54), garage parking (weekly rate of $78) and handicapped parking (same as long-term). The parking lots are open 24/7 and payment is made as you exit.

Protip: If someone is picking you up after your flight, instruct them to head to the cell phone lot located down the hill from the main terminal (they must stay in their vehicle until contacted by their arriving passenger). Or they can park at the short-term lot (30 minutes at $1 or daily max of $20).

These rental car companies are on-site:

Our engagement editor Mary rented a car from the AVL Airport for $21 for a day. We call that a win.
