We’ve got a new comfort show in the queue. “The Rotating Chef” highlights the culture and community impact of chefs across the Carolinas, including Asheville.

Shaniqua Simuel, a community advocate and public health nutrition and cooking educator here in Asheville, joins the show’s host, Caleb Owolabi, throughout season one.

You can watch the first two episodes this Saturday, March 29 at 4 p.m. during a special screening event at the YMI Cultural Center.

The free event will feature:

  • A live Q+A panel with Simuel, Owolabi, and Director Elijah York, who will share behind-the-scenes insights about the series.
  • A conversation with Deborah Holt Noel, host of “NC Weekend” and “Black Issues Forum,” who will discuss her experiences in media.
  • Bites by Chef Mike Reppert of The Blackbird Restaurant and a specialty beverage that was featured on the show.

Season one of “The Rotating Chef” is available now on Amazon Prime Video and Tubi.
