Talk about made in the (productive) shade.

Any remote workers out there starting to feel cooped up? Trust us, we get it. We highly recommend fresh air + sunlight, especially since the weather is starting to cool off.

Here are five local spots where you can work outsideWi-Fi connection included.

💻 Trade and Lore, 37 Wall St.

  • While its interior — decorated with greenery from local plant shop Palm + Pine — is dreamy, its modest patio space along bustling Wall Street offers fresh air, ample opportunities for people watching, and a view of local artist Ian Wilkenson’s beautiful mural of Catawba Falls along the stairwell connector to Battery Park.

💻 Focal Point Coworking, 125 S. Lexington Ave. Ste. 101

  • While we love the inside of this high-ceilinged space in the Lexington Station building, we adore its spacious + shaded patio even more, especially when the leaves are changing.

💻 High Five Riverside, 2000 Riverside Dr.

  • Located along the French Broad River, this location offers lovely outdoor accommodations for working. Pro tip: there’s also walking trails if you want to take a leisurely stroll after knocking out your to-do list, plus coffee, pastries, snacks + smoothies if you need to refuel.

💻 Summit Coffee RAD, 4 Foundy St., Ste. 20

  • Want a little culture in your workday? This spot in the River Arts District is located inside a collection of old warehouses that have been renovated into artist studios, so when you’re done with work, you can meander about and take in one-of-a-kind works of art.

💻 Flora Asheville , 428 B Haywood Rd.

  • This plant + coffee shop combo is the perfect place to work if you’re looking for a peaceful and productive oasis. Its lush garden space (located behind the storefront) has picnic tables and a fire pit, and you can stay motivated with botanical-infused drinks and local sweet treats.
