🌲Make-A-Wish Trailblazer Challenge

📍Foothills Trail | Strenuous | 🧗 28.3 miles | Day-long hike

The Trailblazer Challenge is a 28.3 mile hike where participants trek the terrain of the Foothills Trail in one day. This is for all levels of experience from novice to advanced. Hikers are involved in a specialized training program from Feb.–May which includes a workout calendar + bi-weekly hikes.

On June 2, about 90 Ashevillians will be participating in this all-day hike. Each hiker raises money and donates the funds to the Make-A-Wish foundation so they can grant wishes to children in Central + Western N.C.

Each hiker has a donation page where you can donate to support the cost of the hiking adventure as well as the Make-A-Wish foundation. As of now the goal is $535,000 and they have raised $371,589 so far. (It costs about $6,000 to grant a wish to a child.)

There are 51 days left to donate for this year’s challenge.
