Have you ever thought to yourself, hey, that would be a good name for (fill in the blank)? Well, the Pisgah Conservancy is giving the public a chance to submit their ideas to name the new 20-mile loop connecting Pisgah National Forest, Bracken Preserve, and the City of Brevard.

The new loop links Stony Knob Trail, Joel Branch Road, Horse Cove Road, Estatoe Trail, Bracken Mountain Trail, the Brevard Greenway, and shops + restaurants in downtown Brevard.

The new name will be displayed on signage throughout the loop, so if your name is chosen, you’ll get to see it proudly direct you to a post-hike brew or ice cream cone.

Submit your suggestions online until Tuesday, July 15. The winning name will be announced later this summer.

Need some ideas to get started? Perhaps something to honor the local fauna.
