The Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce’s women in business initiative, WomanUP, is hosting a workshop on May 7th focusing sexual harassment in the workplace.

A panel of four local experts (Jackie Grant, Roberts & Stevens; Jessica Leaven, Grimes Teich Anderson LLP; Carol Steen, Human Resources for Mountain Area Health Education Center Inc.; Robin Sersland, OurVOICE) will discuss this issue.

According to a recent study by nonprofit Stop Street Harassment, 81% of women had experienced some form of sexual harassment in their lifetime + 38% said they’ve experienced it in the workplace. The best way to put a stop to the problem is by addressing it + learning what steps to take when it occurs.

This workshop will be held at the Diana Wortham Theatre (18 Biltmore Ave.) from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Tickets costs $30 per person + you can register here.
