Is there anything more beautiful than a sunset in Asheville?

The summer solstice is the longest day of the year. Now the question is: What should we do with all that daylight? You know us (and if you don’t, you should subscribe to our newsletter) — we’ve always got some ideas on how to spend your day.

Go long

  • Walk the entire urban trail. With thirty stops, you’ll need the extra daylight to complete this historical tour. Prefer a more outdoorsy hike? Check out our guide.
  • If you haven’t had a chance to check out the new exhibits, see if you can look at every piece in the Asheville Art Museum.
  • Play the back 9 of the AVL Municipal Golf Course. The front 9 are currently closed due to Helene, but they’ll let you play the back 9 twice.
